Free-entry Cardinals camp opens in Glendale, and Michael Wilson aims to prove 2025 was no fluke

The Arizona Cardinals open training camp at State Farm Stadium in Glendale from July 24 to Aug. 9 with free admission and free parking, according to a Cronkite News report published Wednesday. Wilson, a third-round pick out of Stanford in 2023, posted 1,006 receiving yards and seven touchdowns in 2025, nearly matching his production from his first two seasons combined, Cronkite News reported. The Cronkite News feature traces Wilson’s competitive streak back to childhood, with his mother, Ngaire, recalling that “Michael used to try and cheat to win when he was 3 years old.” His brothers described backyard games that turned everything into a scoreboard, a tone that has clearly carried into his professional approach.

Wilson also credited family for fueling his jump. He told Cronkite News that his 10-month-old daughter, Gianna, became a “little luck charm” and changed his energy after practices and games. “When I’m around her, the thought of being tired doesn’t even cross my mind,” he said.
