Terms of Use

These terms govern your use of Saguaro Signal and the content published at saguarosignal.com. Last updated August 5, 2026. Please read them carefully. They limit our liability and define your rights and obligations.

Acceptance

By accessing or using this site, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the site. If you use the site on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these terms.

What Saguaro Signal is

Saguaro Signal is an independent Arizona politics publication. We publish original articles and commentary, and we also surface headlines and excerpts from outside local sources via RSS and similar feeds. Outside stories identify their publisher and link to the publisher's page. We do not present syndicated headlines as our own reporting. More about how we work is on our About and Editorial Standards page.

Intellectual property

Unless otherwise noted, original text, design, branding, and other materials on this site are owned by Saguaro Signal or used under license. You may link to our pages and share brief excerpts with attribution and a link back for personal, non-commercial, or news commentary purposes. You may not republish our original articles in full, scrape the site for republication, create derivative works from our original content for commercial use, or use our name or marks in a way that suggests endorsement without prior written permission.

Headlines, excerpts, and linked material from outside publishers remain the property of those publishers and are subject to their terms. Our display of a third-party headline or excerpt does not transfer any rights in that material to you.

Images and photographs

To the best of our ability, article and site images are sourced as one of the following:

  • Creative Commons (or similar open licenses), typically via Wikimedia Commons or comparable repositories, with attribution when required;
  • Public domain works; or
  • AI-generated images created for or by Saguaro Signal for illustrative use.

Image credits on the site reflect that sourcing to the best of our knowledge at the time of publication. License metadata from third-party repositories can be incomplete, outdated, or incorrect. We do not warrant that every image credit, license label, caption, or likeness is error-free, or that every AI-generated image is free of training-data or third-party claims.

Images are provided for editorial illustration only. They do not imply that a depicted person, place, or event endorses Saguaro Signal, and an illustrative image may not depict the exact scene described in an article. If you believe an image is misattributed, mislicensed, or should be removed, email contact@saguarosignal.com with the URL and supporting details. We will review good-faith notices and may remove or replace an image without admitting liability.

Third-party content and feeds

RSS feeds, syndicated headlines, excerpts, outbound links, and other third-party material are provided for convenience and context. We do not control, verify in full, endorse, or assume responsibility for third-party content, availability, accuracy, legality, or practices. You access third-party sites at your own risk and under those sites' terms and privacy policies.

Acceptable use

  • Do not attempt to disrupt, overload, or break into the site or related systems.
  • Do not use automated scraping at a volume that impairs the service, except for ordinary search-engine indexing.
  • Do not submit spam, malware, or unlawful content through newsletter forms or email tip lines.
  • Do not misrepresent yourself when contacting us about corrections, tips, or subscriptions.
  • Do not use the site to violate any law or the rights of any person.

User submissions

If you send tips, corrections, comments, or other materials to us, you grant Saguaro Signal a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, reproduce, edit, publish, and distribute that material for editorial, legal, and operational purposes, subject to our judgment and any applicable law. You represent that you have the right to send the material and that it does not violate the rights of others. We have no obligation to use, respond to, or retain any submission.

Newsletter

If you subscribe, you agree to receive email from us at the address you provide. You can unsubscribe at any time. Delivery depends on your email provider and is not guaranteed. We are not liable for delayed, blocked, or undelivered messages.

No professional advice; no reliance

Content on Saguaro Signal is for general informational and commentary purposes only. It is not legal, financial, investment, tax, medical, or other professional advice. Do not rely on it as a substitute for advice from a qualified professional or as the sole basis for any decision. You assume all risk arising from your use of, or reliance on, the site and its content.

Disclaimer of warranties

THE SITE AND ALL CONTENT—INCLUDING ARTICLES, HEADLINES, FEEDS, LINKS, IMAGES, CREDITS, CAPTIONS, DATA, AND NEWSLETTERS—ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SITE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE; THAT DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED; OR THAT ANY CONTENT IS COMPLETE, CURRENT, ACCURATE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS. NEWS AND POLITICS CHANGE QUICKLY; VERIFY IMPORTANT CLAIMS AGAINST PRIMARY SOURCES.

Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SAGUARO SIGNAL AND ITS OWNERS, OPERATORS, CONTRIBUTORS, CONTRACTORS, AND AFFILIATES ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES; OR FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, REVENUE, GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY; OR FOR ANY CLAIM RELATED TO THIRD-PARTY CONTENT, FEEDS, LINKS, IMAGE LICENSING OR ATTRIBUTION, AI-GENERATED MEDIA, OR YOUR RELIANCE ON SITE CONTENT—WHETHER BASED IN CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), STRICT LIABILITY, OR OTHERWISE—EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SITE OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100) OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US (IF ANY) IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, WHICHEVER IS GREATER. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN LIMITATIONS; IN THOSE CASES, OUR LIABILITY IS LIMITED TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Saguaro Signal and its owners, operators, contributors, contractors, and affiliates from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to your use of the site, your submissions, your violation of these terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.

Corrections and takedown requests

We aim to correct material errors. Send corrections to corrections@saguarosignal.com. Image or copyright concerns may be sent to contact@saguarosignal.com. A request does not guarantee a change, and we may append a correction note, remove content, or take no action, in our sole discretion and without admitting liability.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. You agree that exclusive venue for any dispute arising out of or relating to the site or these terms lies in the state or federal courts located in Maricopa County, Arizona, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there. You waive any right to a jury trial to the extent permitted by law, and any claim must be brought individually, not as a class or representative action, to the extent that waiver is enforceable.

Changes; severability; entire agreement

We may update these terms from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised terms. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in effect. These terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and Saguaro Signal regarding the site and supersede prior understandings on that subject. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.
